At the international level, Chiara Lubich is very widely credited for her contribution to interreligious dialogue: for instance, she was awarded the Templeton Prize for the progress in religion in 1977; she was invited by the American Muslim Commission to give a talk in the Harlem mosque in New York nel 1997; and the Focolare Movement has been promoting interreligious dialogue in everyday life for many years and in many countries, including "sensitive" areas - such as Africa and the Middle East. In fact, an international meeting on this issue was scheduled to take place in Trento for the Centenary this month.

This is the main topic of the last Ch conference call - a monthly "news bulletin" of the Focolare Movement - titled "A light for the world". Starting from the words of Chiara Lubich herself on this issue, and from those of other religious leaders, the conference call goes through several countries and brings practical examples of interreligious dialogue in our times.

The journey starts from India, with the collaboration between the Shanti Ashram movement and the Focolare; and goes on to Jordan, Ivory Coast, Afghanistan and Argentina, with voices from all over the world. There's Omar, for instance, a muslim who works for the catholic Caritas in Jordan; Raul, a christian Indian dancer, who dances in the role of an Indu God and is married to an Indu dancer; and many others.
